On Perfection

Dear Self,

Try not to spend your time trying to be perfect. You don’t have to fake it either. Perfection is an excuse. Striving for it is more of a struggle with your pride.

Know that imperfection is not a negative. Your flaws make you who you are, so don’t be afraid to own them. Start by surrendering your idea of perfection. This will bring you power and peace.

Continue to focus on the parts of you that you’re most proud of. But learn to clap for the parts you wish to change.

Allow room for mistakes. You’ll be just fine. Embrace each failure. They aren’t a reflection of who you are. Perfection won’t determine your happiness.

Love, Self.
