Dream Job

Well this has been on my mind a lot lately.

When I think dream job, I think work from home in my pyjamas, flexible hours, vacation whenever I want, randomly grab lunch with a friend or spend the morning at the beauty spa just because. I’d be able to wake up whenever I want, go to bed in whatever city I want and not worry that someone may be waiting for me to show face in an office or sit behind a desk staring at a computer screen all day. That’s a dream job. I love freedom. I wouldn’t complain if I had to pull a 12hr work day but I need the freedom to do things whenever I choose.

When I was younger I placed a lot of emphasis on going after a career that would make me renowned. I wanted to be celebrated. Not in a fuss over me, lay out the red carpet kind of way but in a respected authority kind of way. I had to be considered important in my field. Whether I was a doctor or a lawyer, I needed to be acknowledged. Now, I just want to create experiences and be free. When I say create experiences, it could be anything and that’s the beauty in what drives me. Everyday I think strategy. I think, call me if there’s a concept to sell or a crisis to solve. I want to see stories unfold over generations through engagements, events, campaigns or think tanks. Can I do this in my pyjamas? Think Olivia Pope.
